Shire Accomplishments

The Shire of Sudrholt has an unofficial motto “we are small but mighty!” 

Coronation of Logan the Gardener & Bronach of Kildare, April 5-7, 2024.  Castlemere, who autocrated the event, asked Sudrholt to staff the troll.  Sudrholt stepped up and was at troll Friday at 4PM until Saturday at 2PM.  The event had around 400 attendees.  Sudrholt members greeted all with our usual politeness.  Per the Castlemere autocrat, "Troll received numerous compliments!  Thanks for assisting us."  Baroness Birna was elevated to the Order of the Laurels.

Gulf Wars, March, 2024.  Honorable Lord Philippe d'Artaignan and Baroness Birna Isleifsdottir defended their Arts & Sciences entries from the January Kingdom A&S.  



Defender of the Queen's Heart, February 24, 2024.  Sudrholt was the landed representative of the event.  A first ever rapier event, there were 190 attendees and 36 combatants.  Awards and accolades for members of the Shire: Mistress Ambra was elevated on the spot to Order of the Pelican; Baroness Birna was ordered to sit contemplation for the Order of the Laurels and to be elevated at Coronation in April; HL Philippe d'Artaignan was awarded the Triskelle; Lord Kelwyn Owain was awarded the Tradewinds. HLy Asul was awarded a Grant of Arms.  Finally we were delighted to see Gabrielle fighting during the event for his mother, Alora.  Duchess Elspeth and Vycount Alexander did a beautiful job of decorating the hall.  Baron "Skippy" created a safe target practice area for the children at the event.


Kingdom Arts and Sciences, January 6, 2024.  We had 3 participants for scoring.

Baroness Birna Isleifsdottir 

Birna received Crown's and Rose's acclaim, was selected as a Gulf War Champion, and received a Non Pariel - a "this item could have been found in historic/period time". Also passed the torch on the new Art Sci deputy for "I did the thing!" - Successfully completing her term in that effort. And gifted handcrafted knives to the three  chief contributing artists to the challenge!


Honorable Lord Philippe d'Artaignan

Dart won a Non Pariel and was selected as a Gulf War Champion!! That's right folks, two of our artisans are going as Champions to War! His first entry as Journeyman, second time to ever enter.

Honarable Lady Lilias MacLeoid

Lilias displayed her beautiful rose colored Women's cassock to show off the new trim that was applied in a period correct fashion, and for commentary. 

Lady Viona of Sudrholt

Viona of Sudrholt won recognition from their Majesties for her vocal performance entry, and, was awarded a Tradewinds and the lampwork necklace that Asul bint Hilala donated for the Queen to gift.

Viscount Alexander Shanasie

Alexander performed a poem for the ambiance part of Kingdom Arts & Sciences and won a prize.  He also helped the Faire by serving as a judge.


Alexander created the visual adaptation of Cú Chulainn and Emer which is next to the poem he read.



Honarable Lady Sinmora Haukstrand

An Elizabethan Sweet Bag, popularly known now as pomanders or sachets can be filled with a variety of scents or objects.  Sinmora included a sample of a popular option. Sinmora received some good comments on her first entry in 25 years.  She also helped at the judging table controlling the chaos.

Duchess Elspeth Trelawney MacNaughton of Lochawe

Special shout out to Duchess Elspeth for judging many entries.  She encourages and supports the artisans in the Shire and is always available with wisdom from her years of experience.

Maestra Ambra Michelli

Ambra assisted in organizing the ArtSci Faire Admin and co-organized the judging. She assisted during Court with announcements.  Mistress Ambra taught a pre-Art Sci Faire class on how to enter and demystify the process and will teach another in 2024 before September Regionals. She encourages and supports the Shire artisans also.
